As a Line Crew Apprentice, you will: Be responsible for providing essential ground support services to arriving and departing aircraft. Under supervision, the apprentice will learn to safely fuel aircraft, marshal aircraft, assist passengers with luggage, and maintain airport equipment. The Line Crew Apprentice is expected to deliver exceptional customer service in all interactions. Perform a variety of operations, maintenance and repair functions related to aircraft, airport equipment, and fueling.Learn to safely drive, service, and fuel various types of aircraft and airport equipment. Learn how to refuel mobile Avgas and Jet A trucks.Learn marshal aircraft in and out on arrivals and departures.Learn to greet pilots and passengers, assist with Luggage and take fuel orders.Learn how to service oil on aircraft as directed by the supervisor or aircraft captain.Learn how to maintain fuel truck and fuel farm records daily.Learn how to service aircraft, including removing trash, fueling, lavatory servicing, loading and unloading luggage, towing, potable water service, windshield washing, and providing amenities.Learn how to safely fuel aircraft using established procedures (NATA and in-house training) and knowledge of different aircraft types. Employee will fuel both Avgas and Jet aircraft. This function requires extensive knowledge about fueling procedures and how to fuel different aircraft.Learn tow limits and how to tow aircraft to and from hangars, operates the hangar doors correctly, and ensures the aircraft has clearance before putting into a hangar.Learns how to Communicate with ATC control tower using appropriate terms and communication techniques.Learn procedures on Answer telephones and Unicom during times when Customer Service Representatives are not on duty.Learn how to perform minor maintenance on airport equipment. Will be required to wash airport equipment, trucks, loaner cars and other vehicles as directed. Performs regularly scheduled safety checks on ground equipment and fuel trucks. Inspects T-hangars for function and customer adherence to hangar rules and policies; reports all discrepancies to the supervisor or manager on duty.Custodial duties in the terminal and corporate hangars, including hangar floors.Monitors ramp area for customer security and performs daily runway inspections, which may include removal of debris, animals and other obstructions.Performs any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Line Supervisors, Line Services Manager, Assistant Aviation Director or Director of Aviation.
