Description
With general supervision, this position is responsible for sales activities of products and/or services to governmental and/or commercial agencies. Maintains key sales contacts with domestic entities. Evaluates new initiatives and business opportunities. Participates in the development of short- and long-range objectives and recommends goals to higher management. Identifies customer needs, performs market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and develops business plans. This role is supporting the South- Central Region. TX, OK, KS, NE, MO, AK, the ideal candidate would be located in this area.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops market/product line business plans and capture plans to support sales in designated market segments. Advises management on status or action required in connection with existing and potential sales programs.
- Identifies potential customers to develop and fosters partnerships. Analyzes market data to identify trends/opportunities and provides input for strategic direction.
- Creates market analyses presentations. May prepare and present company product briefings and conducts facilities tours for visitors.
- Assists in supplying business development input and administrative control for specific projects within the group.
- Coordinates promotional activities including participation in trade shows, advertising, brochures and literature, and videos.
- Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.
Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, science major or related field and three or more years progressively complex marketing/sales experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Must demonstrate a general understanding of sales concepts, techniques, and standards and experience demonstrating those concepts.
- Must possess the ability to contribute to the development of new processes or systems and communicate new concepts.
- The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of moderately complex sales issues.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of customer representatives.
- The ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects effectively and efficiently.
- The ability to represent the company on external projects, and strong computer, documentation, and presentation skills.
- The ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work hours and travel as required.
