Description
SUMMARY
This position manages the collection and reporting of print and digital advertising, oversees article submissions and customer service for CORROSION journal, and coordinates with external vendors for advertising production. Responsibilities include monthly reporting of advertising and journal performance metrics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage the print vendor processes for advertising materials collection for all publishing print products.
- Coordinate advertising space reservations, ad material receipt, and delivery of production run sheet to the printer. Ensure all advertising materials are received by deadlines
- Collect all advertising materials for digital issues.
- Manage the creation and delivery of monthly advertising invoices and sales production reports Work in ScholarOne, Magazine Manager and Nimble platforms to maintain current advertising and pricing information and generate monthly reports
- Produce the advertising index for each monthly issue across all magazine titles
- Review and approve press proofs for all print advertisements. Manage Classified and Corrosion Engineering Directory (CED) program, including securing sales, collecting materials, and ensuring advance payment
- Respond to advertiser requests and/or inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Review manuscript submissions daily, verify artwork file requirements, confirm copyright documentation and coordinate author production workflow through post acceptance
- Maintain the publication logs and vendor issue line-ups monthly
- Provide monthly manuscript production reports
- Develop and implement author surveys following each issue launch

No supervisory responsibilities required for this role.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Some travel is expected for this role. A passport is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma is required. Some college is preferred.
A minimum of five years of work experience with demonstrated success in an advertising or production administration role is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, members, employees, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to develop and interpret business graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret instructions presented in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Personnel management experience, including the ability to evaluate staff performance and provide direction, is highly desirable. Ability to work in a multitasking environment while considering various external factors. Must be able to communicate effectively and accurately with supervisors and staff.
Must be computer literate and experienced with word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to learn and use association-specific software is required.
