Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to train under Dr. Koch to prepare for a career as a scientific/medical professional.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments with equipment such as the Voptica Visual Adaptive Optics Simulator, Oculus Pentacam AXL Wave, M&S Technologies Clinical Trial Suite, and WaveFront Dynamics, Inc. WaveDyn Vision Analyzer.
- Evaluates and analyzes data for multiple projects in the Koch lab using the above equipment.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals and attend meetings to discuss results of ongoing studies.
- Maintains laboratory operations such as ordering supplies, etc.
- Collaborates with other staff, clinicians, and researchers on ongoing or future research projects including refractive surgery, keratoconus management, and AI integrationin OCT image analysis.
- Supervises research staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Learns and becomes proficient with handling reagent order and services of various cores at the BCM, as well as communicating with other lab regarding various issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD).
- No experience required.
