Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update PETRA and Kingdom projects to support geologists with project building, tracking, and data management.
  • Input and manipulate data in spreadsheets; import formation tops, perforations, pressure, and production data into PETRA, Kingdom, Spotfire, and Petrel.
  • Generate maps using ArcGIS Pro for use across various departments.
  • Research and retrieve geological and production data from internal databases, online platforms (e.g., S&P Global, Enverus), and geological log libraries.
  • Import and export cultural data, well data, directional surveys, raster and LAS logs, production data, and formation tops across PETRA, Kingdom, and Petrel platforms.
  • Manage technical information, including scout data, production statistics, and regulatory filings from government agencies.
  • Digitize, scan, and import geologic and surface maps (e.g., land plats), and facilitate data exchange between Petra, Kingdom, Petrel, and reservoir engineering software.
  • Provide clerical support such as scanning, copying, and preparing materials, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, land, accounting, tax, and marketing) to ensure accurate and timely data sharing.
  • Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to assigned work schedules and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of geotechnical or engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong proficiency in software support and data management, including Petra, Kingdom, Petrel, ArcGIS, Danomics, Spotfire, and StarSteer.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with a willingness to ask questions and learn or train on new software and workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately solve problems with a high level of data management expertise.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks with varying priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).

Education:

  • Required: 1) Graduation from a two-year college or 2) High School diploma (or GED equivalent) with sufficient advanced courses from an accredited college or university. Note: Candidates demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position will be considered.
  • Preferred: Degree from an accredited four-year university or college.
