The Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity available for a Microbiologist to join our Vascular division in Pearland, TX. This is a fully Onsite role.
Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.
Establishment and operation of microbiology program including developing and implementing microbiology testing, environmental monitoring and new types of microbiological testing as necessary.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure completion of microbiological testing, including Environmental Monitoring, gas, and water testing, in compliance with all applicable Corporate and Divisional policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Author technical documentation including protocols, trend reports (e.g., environmental monitoring, product testing), regulatory support documents, and justification reports (e.g., alert level and family group).
- Develop and maintain microbiology procedures in alignment with company and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate, implement, and update microbiological test methods as needed.
- Monitor laboratory equipment performance and manage calibration as well as requalification schedules to ensure operational readiness.
- Review and manage site microbiological data, including collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Support regulatory inspections, site audits, and change management processes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Microbiology) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 2 plus years of related work experience with good understanding of specified functional area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Experience working in medical devices industry is strongly preferred.

The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
