SUMMARY
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Calibrates 300Kv machine and experimental equipment.
Assists in external beam calculations.
Performs patient studies with specialized radiation detection equipment.
Receives and assays radioactive materials.
Prepares doses of radioactive materials for patients.
Measures and calculates the amount of radiation or radioactive material received by patients or employees.
Operates radiation therapy machines and handles radioactive isotopes.
Counts specimens of radioactive materials and uses scanning equipment for determining the distribution of radioactive isotopes in patients.
Keeps film badge records, performs radioactive contamination tests on surfaces and in the air.
Maintains and calibrates radiation safety equipment.
Education Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent
Education Preferred - Associate's Degree or Bachelor's degree in Math, physics or related field.
Experience Required - 2 years in research, laboratory or related experience
No experience required with preferred degree.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
