McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), Assistant Professor or Associate Professor Tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB). The BMB Department is seeking to recruit a tenure-track faculty member to join a thriving community at the cutting edge of biomedical research. Preference will be given to Assistant Professors, but all ranks will be considered. The ideal candidate will complement the activities of current BMB faculty members who are recognized leaders in areas such as membrane biology, structural biology, gene regulation, molecular signaling, and systems biology. Research of BMB faculty ranges from studies of fundamental biochemical and molecular processes in cellular systems to mouse models of disease and intervention (for further details, see: https://med.uth.edu/bmb/).

This world-renowned biomedical complex includes Baylor College of Medicine, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas A&M College of Medicine, Rice University, and more than 40 other institutions. Faculty members in the BMB department have excellent access to state-of-the-art facilities and a large pool of outstanding local colleagues, all of which are within walking distance.


Successful candidates will be expected to establish an independent and extramurally funded research program that addresses fundamental questions in basic and biomedical research.


Qualifications:


  • Ph.D. degree (or equivalent)
  • Postdoctoral experience.
