Feeling comfortable measuring basic anthropometrics and helping participants to complete surveys and questionnaires. Feeling comfortable in inviting participants to participate in ongoing research studies in community events, clinics and other sites. Good attention to detail when assessing child behaviors. Comfortable with flexible working schedule (occasional weekend shifts). Must be very organized.
Pediatrics is seeking a part-time Research Coordinator I for a grant-funded study on diet's impact on toddlers' neurocognitive development. The position includes assisting the Principal Investigator and Research Coordinator II on one project: recruitment and implementation of a cohort study on toddlers ages 6-36 months. We are looking for candidates interested in health promotion, nutrition, child development, or early childhood.
We are seeking a dedicated individual for a part-time position, set at 10 hours per week with the possibility of working up to 19 hours per week as needed. Weekend shifts are typically from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekday shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The position requires skills in recruiting, scheduling, communicating, and working with children ages 6-36 months and their parents. There may be opportunity to work on other funded studies in the future.

Job Duties
- Attends and passes BCM certified training on HIPAA and human subject research and consent procedures.
- Increases awareness and produce and distributes information to attract potential participants.
- Screens potential participants for eligibility.
- Schedules qualified participants and helps with data collection activities in community studies.
- Assists in the data collection of a Diet & Cognition program for toddlers, including data entry of data collected. Data collection could include measuring participants Height and Weight, observing children's behavior during play activities, and administering survey questionnaires.
- Enters, monitors, maintains, verifies, and keeps current participant data in Access, Excel and RedCap database systems.
- Maintains records of data collection (screening, demographic files, clinic visits, game play).
- Maintains general recruitment records (computer and paper).
- Provides project manager and principal investigator with reports on study progress, data forms, data collection, intervention implementation and contacts, as requested.
- Attends project staff meetings.
- Assists with administrative duties of research study such as audit preparation, assisting in preparing the study reports, and organizing participant files.
- Adheres to study guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Attends recruitment events to invite families to participate in current ongoing research studies.
- Proactively increases awareness of study.
- Establishes rapport with potential participants.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience working with children.
- Comfortable talking to children and adult participants.
- Comfortable measuring basic anthropometrics and helping participants to complete surveys and questionnaires.
- Comfortable inviting participants to participate in ongoing research studies in community events, clinics and other sites.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Flexible work schedule (occasional weekend shifts).
