Description
The Finance Director directs an organization's financial policies. Oversees financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
What You Will Do:
- Working with the CFO, establishes FSG organizational responsibilities, objectives and priorities.
- Develop effective and productive working relationships with all levels of management in a team-oriented environment.
- Identify and establish general accounting policies, procedures and controls. Oversee implementation of sound financial systems.
- Direct the consolidated financial and operational reporting activities and interpret results. Prepare reports on financial performance for Executive, Operations and Corporate Management.
- Coordinate the accounting and financial function to develop consistent, accurate and timely financial information.
- Direct the preparation, development and consolidation of operating budgets.
- Provide the CFO, Executive, Operations and Corporate Management with financial/operational information and analysis for making informed decisions and evaluating performance.
- Recommend actions for improving control, operating results and reporting systems.
- Direct the global account reconciliation process.
- Monitor worldwide cash balances for working capital needs and identify best practices for repatriation of excess cash to the corporate office.
- Close collaboration with external auditors to assist in the effective administration of the annual consolidated audit, and local statutory audits throughout the world.
- Close collaboration with internal and external tax advisors to provide financial information needed for tax reporting purposes.
- Guide, coach, mentor, lead by example, collaborate, and support other team members.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in accounting.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in financial management with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a senior financial management position.
- CPA preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive accounting experience in an international service environment with considerable experience in a senior financial management position.
- Excellent managerial skills in the areas of team development, organization, negotiation, relationship building, planning, and implementation.
- Considerable auditing experience, preferably with a “Big 4” firm.
- Highly developed analytical, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems, preferably Oracle.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to various levels of management.
- Exposure and familiarity with project accounting and contract administration.
- Familiarity with foreign taxation issues.
- Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
Reporting Relationships:
The incumbent reports to top financial management. Direct reports will include individuals from the Finance Department.
