Position Summary
The Institutional Municipal Sales Representative will have a deep understanding of municipal bond markets, strong sales acumen, and the ability to provide tailored fixed-income solutions to meet client’s needs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Client Acquisition and Relationship Management.
  • Engage with Tier 1 & Tier 2 municipal investors: understanding their investment objectives and aligning them with appropriate municipal bond solutions.
  • Stay informed on municipal market trends, credit ratings and developments and economic factors affecting the market.
  • Provide clients with market insight with a deep understanding of yields, spreads and other metrics to support client decision-making.
  • Collaborate with trading desks and research teams to identify opportunities and execute transactions effectively.
  • Achieve sales and revenue targets.
  • Educate the clients as much as they will persuade them.

  • Support and promote the Bank vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures.
  • Must have excellent analysis, observation and decision-making skills.
  • Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and members of the business and civic community.
  • Individual should be able to work under high pressure situations and then should remain composed.
  • Provide a strong, compassionate and visible leadership, to foster positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience Recommendations
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or relevant experience.
  • Must hold a Series 7 and 63/65 License and be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Three or more years of experience in a fixed-income sales, finance or business background, particularly on the quantitative side.
  • Stay informed on municipal market trends, credit rating, and developments and economic factors affecting the market.
  • Proficient in Bloomberg Terminal, CRM system and Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Strong client relationship management.
  • Impeccable research, quantitative and analytical skills, especially in explaining market events.
  • Ability to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments.
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed for meetings with clients, centers of influence and for continued education and training.
