We are seeking an experienced market risk manager to monitor and manage key market risk controls across our global commercial portfolio, using globally consistent tools and processes. The role will also provide advanced analytical and quantitative support to Product Control and Commercial Trading. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in commodity trading, market risk management and quantitative analysis, as well as experience in managing a dynamic team in a large and diverse commodity trading organization.

Responsibilities May Include:
Oversees VaR methodology, risk limits, and risk capital allocation.

Supervises design and selection of stress tests scenario analyses and risk assessments in line with Commercial strategies and exposures.

Manages production of customized and bespoke risk reports for Front Office.

Develops strong relationships with Front Office, Operations (including scheduling), and FP&A to embed risk practices into daily activities and decision-making processes.

Supports economics and provides insights into Trading strategies and new business activities.

Provides advanced analytical support to Commercial, including complex derivatives & option valuation.

Required Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in job posting country

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 12+ years of experience in market risk management within commodities or financial services

In-depth expertise in VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis, with a track record of developing and enhancing risk frameworks

Proven ability to work closely with trading desks to integrate risk assessments into deal evaluations and strategy development

Technical skills in risk metrics and exposure management, with proficiency in relevant risk systems (e.g., ETRM)

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of capital allocation methodologies and regulatory requirements for market risk management

Analytical mindset, able to translate complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership, ensuring accurate risk metrics and effective capital allocation strategies

Strong trading-facing communicator, aligning risk insights with commercial strategies and decision-making.

The Commercial organization works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration. Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations. Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
