Position Summary

Position: Controller

Classification: Full Time; (Exempt)

Reports To: Corporate Controller

Work Location: In person; Pasadena Fwy


Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Post and review/reconcile daily bank transactions.
  • Review and payoff daily vehicle floorplan liabilities.
  • Daily review of operating cash flows and compliance with corporate reporting to upper management.
  • Manage the collection of all account receivables to ensure financial stability.
  • Manage the payment of all accounts payables to ensure proper expense recognition and costing.
  • Review and approve all weekly, semi-monthly, and month-end payrolls.
  • Review and manage all accounting schedules and general ledger accounts.
  • Review and correct all month-end bank reconciliations.
  • Manage and direct the month-end accounting close.
  • Manage office staff in their daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities. Proper management includes continued training, development, and compliance with all corporate, management, and external policies and procedures.
  • Prepare for and assist in all internal and external auditing requirements, including manufacturer reviews, floor plan audits, vehicle inventory audit, semi-annual accounting review, and all other regulatory compliance reviews.
  • Manage daily information flow between departments to successfully provide support and value-added to the organization.
  • Implement robust internal controls to protect assets and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as manufacturer-specific financial guidelines.
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence.
  • Partner with sales, service, and parts teams to provide financial guidance and drive operational success.
  • Other Duties May be assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills required to maintain CRM
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work individually as well as part of a team.
  • CDK experience preferred
  • Dealership experience is required
  • Flexible availability to meet business needs, including occasional weekends or evenings.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel within multiple dealership locations (no overnight stays required).


Relevant Work Experience & Other Requirements:

  • Must meet dealerships requirements for employment which include background check and drug screening
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable based on driving record.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
  • Must be punctual and reliable.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/ or walk for extended periods of time
