Job Summary
Responsible for conducting or overseeing actuarial analysis for various lines of business to estimate financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Relying on broad experience and judgment, this role is accountable for accomplishing the following responsibilities and has substantial latitude for actions or decisions made with minimal review.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review and recommend for approval actuarial performance reporting by product line including product review, market assessment, and financial return objectives.
  • Responsible for making sure the actuarial function interacts effectively with all other parts of the organization including underwriting, product managers, and accounting.
  • Responsible for the strategic actuarial system development through a strong relationship with IT.
  • Oversee the achievement of the actuarial functions of the company, including establishing reserve requirements for financial statements, pricing methodologies, basic premium structure, and experience rating formulas.
  • Provide financial input regarding pricing, loss ratios, and expenses in connection with budget projections for future operating periods.
Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements
Education
Minimum
4 Year / Bachelors Degree
Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field or the equivalent education and/or experience
Experience
6 Years
relevant and progressive experience in area of specialization
Other
  • Possess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
