Job Description
As our new project-level Air Quality Engineer, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

- The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Key Responsibilities
- Review of federal, state, and local regulations to identify applicable requirements governing the operation of air emission sources
- Provide air quality permitting and regulatory compliance to support industrial clients
- Analyze industrial processes and operations to quantify air pollutant emissions
- Prepare calculations using spreadsheets, databases, third-party software, and process simulation software to quantify air pollutant emissions from industrial emission sources
- Prepare air quality permit applications to obtain authorization to construct and operate air pollutant emission sources
- Conduct field work for emissions monitoring and measurement, source characterization, or environmental sampling of various media
- Conduct occasional field site visits to inventory air pollutant emission sources and collect data necessary to quantify emissions and assess compliance with air quality permit terms and regulations
- Prepare proposals, reports, and other written deliverables
Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical a plus) or in other relevant technical science-related degree program
- 2-5 years of experience providing Air Quality or Environmental support to chemical manufacturing, petroleum refining, oil & gas, and other industrial sectors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in technical writing
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software
- Valid driver's license and ability to occasionally travel by airplane and car, including overnight travel
- Self-motivated; strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent time management skills: ability to balance multiple projects due to importance and dynamic deadlines
- Proactive in planning ahead and problem solving
- Willing and eager to learn new skills
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interface with clients and internal stakeholders
- Preferred
o Air quality regulatory analysis (state regulations and federal Clean Air Act program standards)
o Experience with Texas Air regulations and permitting
