Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager / Plant Engineer to support turbine-related projects at our fossil or gas turbine-based power generation facilities. This role is ideal for someone with a background in plant engineering and project management, and who has experience in outage coordination, project execution, and team supervision. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in thermodynamics and familiar with both Brayton and Rankine Cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support planning and execution of turbine maintenance and upgrade projects
- Assist in outage management, scheduling, and coordination
- Provide technical support for plant operations and maintenance
- Interface with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project goals are met
- Monitor project performance, budgets, and timelines
- Contribute to engineering assessments and process improvements
- Supervise or coordinate with plant staff and contractors as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred; Controls, Chemical, or Civil considered)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in fossil or gas turbine-based power plants
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, including the Brayton and Rankine Cycles
- Proven experience in plant engineering, outage/project management, and team coordination
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience with turbine system upgrades or major maintenance projects
- Prior supervisory or leadership responsibilities in a plant setting
