Location:
Guidance & Counseling - Master's degree in guidance counseling from a recognized, accredited college or university, with a valid Texas certificate or counseling certificate from out of state appropriate for position.

- Support district-wide teaching of guidance related curriculum
- Provide district-wide support and guidance for individuals and groups of students and parents struggling with managing the student’s personal, social, and academic development.
- Promote district-wide understanding of T-2-4 Core Characteristics or any other district initiative to increase the effectiveness of student education and success.
- Execute district-wide T-2-4 curriculum supports using well- planned and intentional activities and materials year- round.
- Coordinate opportunities on assigned campuses for students to improve their performance.
- Support the district-wide transition of students beginning in elementary through ninth grade.
- Counsel individual students and small groups of students on assigned campuses who have needs and concerns.
- Provide district-wide consultation services on campuses with parents, teachers, administrators and other relevant people to enhance their work with students.
- Work with district, school, and community personnel to bring together resources for students.
- Maintain a district-wide communication system that effectively schedules, collects and disseminates information within the department.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff on assigned campuses and representatives of the community.
- Use an effective referral process to assist students and others to use special programs and services.
- Promote district-wide supports that create classroom environments conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.
- Provide district-wide preventive, remedial, and/or crisis counseling to address the immediate concerns of students.
- Counsel individual high- risk students on assigned campuses by request and coordinate resources in the school, home, and community to promote success.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect student information and maintain confidential information.
- Provide district-wide assistance for campuses in the selection of books and other materials that support student development
- Provide intervention strategies on assigned campuses for student in need of assistance.
- Establish and maintain open communication with assigned campus leaders to provide support for parents, students, teachers, and administrators.
- Maintain a professional and positive relationship with supervisors, colleagues, students, and parents complying with all district-wide practices and policies.
- Develop and present district-wide trainings for campus staff on child abuse and how to make referrals to Children’s Protective Services. Initiate and/or assist assigned campuses in making referrals to CPS.
- Train campus staff district-wide on Suicide Prevention and serve as the campus liaison for training and information disaggregation.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and administrators across the district to ensure the success of all students.
- Participate in staff development activities to enhance job-imbedded support and facilitation skills.
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district and school regulations and policies.
- Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized campus reports, records and other documents required.
- Attend and participate in district team meetings and serve on district-wide committees as required.
- Follow district safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work on multiple campuses during a day or week.
- Ability to multitask and schedule at multiple campuses with varying needs.
