Title: Assistant Director – EPP Recruitment, Admissions & Certification

Reports To: Department Director
Job Goal:
Lead the implementation of the Region 4 Inspire Texas recruitment, admissions, and certification processes. Employ effective marketing and communication strategies designed to attract candidates seeking certification to apply to and complete Region 4’s educator preparation program (EPP). Develop efficient and effective practices to expeditiously and accurately process candidate applications. Ensure compliance with certification requirements of the Texas Education Agency.
Qualifications:
Education
Master’s degree
Certification/Licensure
- Principal or Mid-Management certificate
- Texas Teaching certificate or related certificate/licensure
- Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) certification
Experience
- At least three years of experience in central office leadership at the district level
- At least three years of experience and expertise in implementing the Teacher Incentive Allotment or strategic compensation systems at the district or regional level
- Experience working with talent and/or budget systems
- Experience with data management systems and data processing
- Experience engaging school community members
- At least three years of experience working in human capital development at the district or regional level
- Three years of experience in campus administration as assistant principal and/or principal

- Ability to effectively communicate, in both oral and written formats, with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Strong long-term planning and project management skills, including establishing outcomes, determining evaluative measures, and tracking progress
- Knowledge and use of effective data protocols and systems

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in developing and presenting professional learning, including the associated online tools

Major Responsibilities :
Educator Preparation Program Responsibilities:
- Supervise Region 4’s EPP implementation, from recruitment through program acceptance and from program completion through certification.
- Understand key characteristics of the Educator Certification Online System (ECOS) accreditation requirements, State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) guidelines, District of Innovation teacher certification exceptions, and educator certification testing programs.
- Provide necessary support to prospective program candidates through personal communications, information sessions, and related events.
- Communicate effectively to ensure program and school staff are fully aware and supportive of program components and certification expectations.
- Maintain current knowledge of state certification regulations and ensure program compliance with such.
- Oversee the program approval of certificates in compliance with state regulations and program policy.
- Oversee ASEP and Title II compliance.
- Ensure the continuous good standing of Region 4 Education Service Center under the state accountability system for educator preparation programs as “Accredited” through excellent data reporting and compliance with program state and federal requirements.
- Collaborate with the department team to develop, plan, implement and present effective professional learning, products, and services in the area of educator preparation to improve student outcomes.
- Provide expert technical assistance to area districts related to compliance with state and federal laws, state policy and regulations, and adherence to ethical and legal standards that impact educator preparation.
Region 4 ESC Responsibilities
- Develop, present, and facilitate effective professional learning sessions, series, convenings, and conferences.
- Engage in professional development to maintain knowledge and skills in area(s) of responsibility.
- Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable federal grant that supports this position.
- Collect program data, maintain accuracy of information, and submit data reports as needed by the Department Director as well as state and federal agencies in support of accountability measures.
- Assist the Department Director with budget development and management for Region 4’s EPP.
Supervision/Personnel Management
Supervise Regional Coordinator, Technical Specialists, and Customer Experience Representatives, including completing performance evaluations and conducting staff training.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/Mental Demands:
Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 20 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; occasional statewide travel; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.
