Job Overview
The Specialist Campus PEIMS will perform a variety of advanced campus level assignments relating to student information focusing on student attendance, PEIMS reporting and data quality assurance.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

PEIMS Data Verification

  • Work with central administration SIS department and campus level administration to ensure that all attendance data and PEIMS reportable data meets requirements set by the Board, District, State and Federal policies
  • Assist in the collection and review of all data required for PEIMS
  • Manage and ensure the accuracy of the Daily Attendance Percentage Report
  • Assist campus personnel with data accuracy reporting as they pertain to local/state validation reports
  • Provide campus administration with weekly reports regarding data accuracy
  • Assist campus attendance personnel to ensure that the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook requirements are met
  • Assist with reconciliation of First Day, 1st Six weeks and 4th Six weeks enrollment
  • Assist with the campus Data Verification process
  • Maintain positive working relationships with the principal, teachers, students, other school personnel and parents
  • Report all PEIMS-related data inequities to administrators via weekly or biweekly mandated Data Integrity Team (DIT) meetings
  • Respond to community and campus requests and inquiries
  • Oversee campus error corrections and data accountability error corrections per district approved software (i.e. Certify, On Data Suite)
Staff & Parental Communication/Customer Service
  • Communicate with parents/guardians by phone and in-person regarding attendance, truancy and other student course credit issues
  • Return parent calls and emails frequently
  • Support campus processes by conducting mandated Data Integrity Team (DIT) meetings to discuss campus data discrepancies
Attendance & Truancy
  • Assist campus attendance personnel with the proper storage of reports, records, attendance notes and other documentation for the District audit box
  • Work with CPS and probation officers to verify attendance and prevent truancy
  • Assist campus personnel identifying students regarding excessive absences, tardiness and possible prevention of denial of course credit
  • Assist campus and district personnel with the notification of Truancy Diversion Program
  • Assist campus attendance personnel with manual and online attendance rosters as needed
  • Communicate and meet with students regarding attendance and/or truancy prevention measures
Training and Professional Development
  • Present information to campus personnel as changes in State or District standards change
  • Attend regularly scheduled PEIMS-ADA team and biweekly, semester and summer training and District meetings
  • Follow the FBISD Attendance Manual's guidelines for daily, weekly, six weeks and semester attendance-taking protocols
District & Campus Support
  • Assist other campuses with data irregularities to ensure overall accountability and success
  • Lead meetings and training sessions as required and needed
  • Ensure other support and professional staff are PEIMS-prepared
  • Participate in district and campus attendance committee meetings
  • Support campus feeder pattern school staff
  • Respond to community and campus requests and inquiries

Qualifications
Qualification Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 60 college hours preferred
  • Texas Association of School Business Officials Certification (TASBO) Acquisition or evidence of courses towards TASBO certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of school-based, campus, clerical, attendance, registration enrollment, or PEIMS reporting data
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the position as a school registrar, school attendance clerk or other school-based data-enriched position
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with Skyward (SIS) preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PEIMS Data Standards and Student Attendance Accounting Handbook
  • Working knowledge of student information systems
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, excel spreadsheets and databases
  • Proficient in all general office skills such as data entry and filing
  • Ability to be highly organized, detail oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or able to comprehend and apply state attendance and enrollment laws

The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds, such as books, papers and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.

  • Minimal travel from campus to campus within the district will be required.
