What will I be doing?

The Early Childhood Education Expansion Planner will support the development of a holistic strategy to expand access to and awareness of early childhood education across the 13-county Houston-Galveston region. This role involves researching, interpreting, and reviewing policies to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and making informed recommendations for improvement. The planner will regularly engage with internal teams and external stakeholders, including childcare providers, community partners, and service agencies, through presentations, collaborative meetings, and ongoing communication. Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this role, as is a deep commitment to improving outcomes for young children and their families.

ü Work with internal teams to increase awareness and access to quality childcare through integrated service delivery.

ü Assist in the planning and development of childcare expansion programming and propose solutions that strengthen awareness.

ü Serve as a liaison between service providers to review communication and other collateral information.

ü Develops and analyzes feedback tools to gather input from providers, using the results to inform and enhance the quality and effectiveness of service delivery.

ü Responding to early childhood quality education requests from childcare stakeholders.

ü Aid in creating a Family Centered Employment approach for childcare providers and parents by identifying supportive services and upskilling opportunities.

ü Prepare and update agendas, notes, presentations, reports and briefing materials for stakeholders and other related audiences.

ü Aid in ensuring programs and services are delivered in accordance with the Workforce Board’s directive and compliant with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

ü Time management skills

ü Ability to analyze, interpret, and present strategies, leading to successful deliverables.

ü Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

ü Demonstrates the ability to adapt and perform effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, maintaining a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines

ü Possesses experience in the early childhood education field with a focus on administrative responsibilities, including program oversight, compliance monitoring, and supporting the implementation of policies that enhance educational quality and operational efficiency.

ü Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and SharePoint.

Do you have…

ü Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study

ü 3 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties

Preferred qualifications

ü Experience and/or formal education in early childhood education, such as a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, an associate with 11 years of experience or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field, and a strong understanding of early learning standards, child development, and program operations. Experience with programs such as Head Start, Texas Rising Star, or state-funded Pre-K initiatives is highly valued.
