Role Summary:
Simetry is growing rapidly and looking for an entry-level Technical Support Specialist to join our Wireless Operations team. This role is ideal for individuals early in their IT or telecom careers who are eager to learn, troubleshoot, and grow within a technology-forward environment. You will play a key part in supporting wireless services, including working with SIM cards, mobile devices, carrier platforms, and support systems.

Schedule: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST)
Availability: On-call one weekend every 4 weeks and occasional off-hours support
Role Priorities / Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot wireless connectivity and IoT data issues across various devices
- Respond to customer issues with attention to detail, urgency, and clarity
- Activate, suspend, and deactivate lines across major carrier platforms (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile)
- Assist with provisioning and setup of routers, gateways, and hardware from vendors such as Peplink, Cradlepoint, Teltonika, Starlink, Semtech, and InHand
- Monitor, identify, and resolve common network issues such as poor signal, APN misconfiguration, or network congestion
- Maintain accurate inventory records and usage reports for SIMs
- Communicate clearly and effectively with vendors and carriers to escalate and resolve issues
- Learn and navigate various carrier portals and internal systems
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and enhance support processes
- Utilize creative and critical thinking to resolve complex support cases using all tools and documentation available Apply a basic understanding of cybersecurity, private APNs, and IPSec VPN tunnels in daily troubleshooting
Qualifications
Required:
- 0–2 years of experience in IT, telecom, or related technical support role
- Basic understanding of cellular networking, IoT connectivity, and mobile device configuration
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and think critically under pressure
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel (e.g., filters, basic formulas)
- Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and technologies Ability to be on-call one weekend every 4 weeks
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- Familiarity with IoT device vendors such as Peplink, Cradlepoint, Teltonika, InHand, Semtech, or Starlink
- Experience with help desk or ticketing software
- Working knowledge of APN settings, IP address routing, and cellular diagnostics
- Exposure to carrier systems or wireless IoT/M2M platforms Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, IP networking, and VPN technologies
Relevant Education or Certifications (any of the following):
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
- CompTIA certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+)
- Cisco CCNA or similar networking certifications Hands-on experience in lieu of formal education will also be considered
