We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Manager, Manufacturing Science & Technology Engineering supporting the MTO Product Engineering Team in Houston, TX, a typical day will include:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring productivity and alignment with departmental objectives.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate new production materials, equipment, and technologies before mass production.
- Complete manufacturing research and development to solve production cost and quality issues and conduct technical feasibility tests to ensure production efficiency.
- Evaluate project capacity for production process design and development.
- Develop and implement standard manufacturing procedures and evaluate production processes to reduce overall costs and determine product quality standards.
- Arrange equipment and tools to support production.
- Foster a culture of excellence by leading performance management, driving talent development, and enhancing employee engagement and recognition.
- Select and communicate with vendors to determine product specifications and ensure products are delivered within approved timelines and budget.
- Engage with partner functions such as research and development, commercial, and quality.
- Make operational decisions for the team, managing resources and schedules.
- Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring quality control.
- Complete all required training and contribute to organizational compliance.
- Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+1 yr)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience
- 3 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
- Location: Onsite
- Travel: 5%
