What will I be doing?
We are seeking a detail-oriented Systems Specialist to oversee the full user-account life cycle for agency systems and applications. The role combines hands-on account administration (creation, modification, termination) and continuous process improvement, while also delivering general Tier-1 technical support when needed.
User-Account Administration
ü Process access requests, permission changes, and de-provisioning across Active Directory, cloud, and third-party platforms.
ü Execute bulk tasks and automation via PowerShell or identity-management tools.
ü Maintain accurate, auditable records in the ticketing system.
Compliance & Security
ü Follow state and agency security standards to protect sensitive data.
ü Participate in periodic access reviews and remediate discrepancies.
ü Recommend updates to account-management policies and controls.
Procedure Improvement
ü Analyze current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement enhancements or automation to reduce turnaround time.
ü Document revised processes and train peers.
Communication & Reporting
ü Serve as primary liaison to requestors, department managers, and vendors on account-status inquiries.
ü Provide timely ticket updates and generate metrics for management dashboards.
General IT Support
ü Resolve Tier-1 hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
ü Escalate complex problems and assist with small projects or rollouts as assigned.
Key Qualifications
ü Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
ü Experience: 2+ years in account administration, helpdesk, or information-security support roles.
ü Proficiency with Windows AD/Azure AD, identity & access-management portals, and basic networking concepts.
ü PowerShell skills for account tasks and reporting.
ü Working knowledge of security best practices (MFA, least privilege, audit logging).
ü Meticulous data-entry abilities, strong organizational skills, and customer-service mindset.
ü Clear written and verbal communication; able to juggle multiple priorities independently.
Do you have…
ü Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
ü At least 1 year of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
Preferred qualifications
ü CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification
