Title: Legal and Regulatory Specialist
Location: Houston, Texas - Corporate Offices - (REQUIRED – Monday – Friday - Full-time, in-office work schedule)
FLSA Status: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY
The Legal and Regulatory Specialist will support the legal team with various legal and regulatory tasks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a proactive individual with strong research, organizational, and communication skills.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree
- Required: 2-5 years of prior work-related experience in a legal, regulatory, or compliance role
- Required: 2-5 years of prior work-related experience with legal terminology and regulatory frameworks
- Required: Prior work-related experience filing in state and federal courts
- Required: Must be experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Adobe, and general office software
- Preferred: Paralegal certification
- Manage the legal project task/to-do items and update other members in the company on status
- Maintain, update, and calendar reporting deadlines appropriately for multiple industries
- Ability to learn compliance/regulatory requirements for each industry
- Assist with regulatory filings nationwide
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and managing legal documents and contracts
- Assist with litigation files, subpoenas, and discovery
- Conduct legal and regulatory research to ensure company compliance
- Maintain and organize regulatory filings and documentation
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the company
- Support the preparation of reports and submissions to regulatory agencies
- Track Secretary of State filings nationwide and aid in forming new entities
- Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel as needed
- Draft correspondence, memos, and summaries related to legal and regulatory matters
- Required: Bachelor’s degree
- Required: 2-5 years of prior work-related experience in a legal, regulatory, or compliance role
- Required: 2-5 years of prior work-related experience with legal terminology and regulatory frameworks
- Required: Prior work-related experience filing in state and federal courts
- Required: Must be experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Adobe, and general office software
- Preferred: Paralegal certification
- Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
- Could involve some lifting up to 20 pounds
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time without much movement
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines
- All candidates must have the ability to speak, read, and write English
