Intuitive Machines is looking for a Junior Contracts Administrator to support our growing company. This entry-to-early career-level role will assist the contracts, legal, and supply chain teams in providing support on contractual matters across the business and will involve assisting with both existing contracts and new business opportunities. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the administration and organization of a range of contracts, including those related to U.S. Government programs (NASA, DoD, other agencies), commercial payload/rideshare projects, and other commercial agreements. The Contracts Administrator-Jr will work under the guidance of senior contracts staff and must be able to operate with a level of independence and attention to detail while learning to manage a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide contract administration support for various U.S. Government (USG) and commercial delivery and service contracts including assisting with internal reviews, supporting contract negotiation, and performing contract administration and execution tasks through contract closeout.
- Act as a point of contact with external customers and support internal customer inquiries from functional teams relating to contracts in assigned area of responsibility.
- Assist in drafting correspondence, coordinates with functional teams, supporting responses to customer data calls/requests for information, and supports submission of contract deliverables, routine contract reporting, and maintenance of IM’s reporting requirements with customers under supervision.
- Assist in conducting basic research and analysis of customer contract requirements including analysis of FAR, DFARS, NFS and other agency clause requirements (with guidance).
- Interface and collaborate with all functional teams to support contract compliance, assist in timely responses to customer inquiries, and support the resolution of basic contract issues and claims (under guidance).
- Attend and participate in internal and external program meetings and processes including contract handover and contract change management (under supervision).
- Perform document management including electronic signatures, logging, and filing of contract documents.
- Assist in the development of basic command media such as manuals, policies, processes, work instructions, or tools.
- Assist in performing screening of parties against restricted lists, basic proposal support activities and contract risk identification under supervision.
- Assist in drafting and/or reviewing and organizing various agreements (under supervision) including non-disclosure agreements, preliminary agreements, teaming agreements, contracts, subcontracts and amendments and modifications.
Skills & Abilities Required
- Familiarity with USG contracts including basic knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and NFS.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- High proficiency with MS Office software.
- BA/BS degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Legal Studies).
Desired Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
- Paralegal training or relevant coursework.
- Familiarity with the aerospace defense, and / or space industries and U.S. government entities (NASA, DoD, etc.). Other relevant industry experience is acceptable as well.
- Knowledge of proposal development processes.
- Exposure to drafting or reviewing basic commercial agreements and contracts and templates.
- Experience supporting negotiations, management, or administration of contracts and ensuring compliance with contract requirements including compliance with FAR and other contract reporting requirements.
- Basic knowledge of USG procurement regulations and requirements including various USG Contract Types (FFP, FPIF, CPAF, CPFF, T&M)
- Basic understanding or exposure to commercial intellectual property (IP) and USG IP and data rights clauses or willingness to learn.
- Experience in supporting communication with external prime contractor or government agency customers on contract-related matters.
- Interest in learning about contract negotiations, drafting and managing contract modifications, amendments, and extensions.
- Basic awareness of ITAR and export compliance requirements and willingness to learn.
- Ability to assist with developing customer and internal company stakeholder relationships.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate with diverse functional teams and varied audiences. Ability to think analytically, organize work assignments, and assist with problem-solving.
