Basic Function: Perform a variety of substantive legal functions as part of the Houston Texans’ (“Club”) Legal department, which includes the Houston Texans and its affiliate, Lone Star Sports & Entertainment, with primary responsibilities being drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial contracts; active and strategic management of various Club policies; and advising internal clients on various legal matters.
Job Function (Duties & Responsibilities):

Draft, negotiate, and review various commercial contracts, including sponsorship agreements, suite lease agreements, vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and event agreements.

Research various legal questions (e.g., within Club’s contracts or NFL policies) and provide clear recommendations to internal staff.

Assist with managing and advising regarding various intellectual property matters.

Assist in drafting and updating various contract templates for use in Club’s contract management system.

Assist on special projects as assigned.

Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the General Counsel.
Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.

Education/Experience:

Juris Doctorate degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.

Minimum three (3) years of experience at a law firm or as in-house counsel.

Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
