Onsite: Hybrid onsite 3x per week in Houston.
Cella is partnering with a leader in the energy industry in Houston, TX to find a new strategic and operations-focused Creative Team Manager to to lead the management, operations, and output of the newly formed onsite creative function. This is more than a management role - it's a rare opportunity to help architect a modern creative team from the ground up inside one of the world's most iconic energy companies.
This person will be joining the Corporate Affairs team. Corporate Affairs proactively manages social, political, and reputational risks for the company and engages the workforce to advance the business. The team strengthens the strategic advocacy, communications, and social investments to build confidence in the company and industry.
You will lead an onsite and remote creative and production team, driving the development and delivery of communications across all our platforms.
In close partnership with our Executive Creative Director, you will build and lead a high-performing team, bringing operational clarity and creative discernment to the work. You'll have a passion for developing systems and processes that empower people to do their best. Together, you'll help shape how the company shows up in the world-with purpose, consistency, and imagination.
Responsibilities:
- Build and lead the internal creative function - shaping its structure, staffing, and systems to meet evolving business needs and inspire high-performance.
- Manage our third-party creative partner, ensuring seamless collaboration, talent quality, and contractual performance.
- Oversee a core team that includes an Executive Creative Director and Creative Production Advisor.
- Champion creative excellence by ensuring all work aligns with brand strategy, business priorities, and campaign objectives.
- Establish systems for resourcing, workflow, prioritization, and production that support agility, efficiency, and scale.
- Bridge strategy and execution by connecting creative with integrated channel, brand, advocacy and internal communications teams.
- Monitor performance across creative output, team health, and operational metrics - and drive continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and creative ambition - where people feel empowered to push boundaries and grow.
- Manage stakeholders and ensure their needs are met.
- Cultivate a collaborative, accountable culture that empowers teams to push boundaries and grow.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of operations experience leading in-house creative teams or agency operations at a Fortune 50 or similarly scaled enterprise.
- A proven track record of building and evolving creative teams through growth, transformation, or modernization.
- A deep understanding of how to balance creative excellence with operational rigor in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Experience managing external vendors, staffing firms, and production partners.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills - with the ability to influence across functions and at the executive level.
- A strategic mindset with a bias for action, solutions, and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with brand governance, large-scale content production, and cross-platform campaign development.
- Cultural fluency and the ability to lead within a global, highly regulated enterprise.
