Description

Develops and implements Chevron's brand strategies and content. Manages brand identity and ensures Chevron’s marketing is aligned with it. Manages the company’s web content, edits direct email marketing and web content, and edits internal site content for employees. Manages social media and advertising campaigns, and Chevron's strategy of sponsorships and conferences.

Supports major customers/clients and leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision. Detailed knowledge of most aspects of the work function.

Position Overview

Chevron is seeking a strategic, data-savvy Email Strategist to lead the development, delivery, and optimization of our corporate email newsletter program and support broader email and SMS outreach for our advocacy programs. You’ll play a critical role in shaping how we connect with key audiences—building stronger relationships through personalized, relevant, and timely communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the planning, content coordination, and execution of our weekly corporate email newsletter, personalized by audience segments.
  • Manage and support email and SMS communications for our advocacy programs, ensuring they are compelling, compliant, and effective.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow subscriber lists through organic and paid acquisition campaigns.
  • Monitor and improve list health, deliverability, and overall email hygiene using best practices and data insights.
  • Track performance, run A/B tests, and provide insights to continuously optimize message effectiveness.
  • Partner with content creators, designers, and digital teams to ensure alignment with brand and communication goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and serve as the email marketing subject matter expert within communications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in email marketing.
  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms, including Marketo
  • Strong understanding of segmentation, personalization, deliverability, and compliance
  • Experience with SMS platforms and advocacy communications a plus.
  • Familiarity with paid acquisition channels and experience in delivering quality list growth
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to build audience segmentation, interpret performance metrics and optimize campaigns accordingly.
  • Collaborative, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects on deadline.
