Description
SUMMARY
The Technical Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and managing technical training programs for Envent field technicians, operators, and maintenance personnel. This position focuses heavily on hands-on, scenario‑based training delivered to both large and small groups, ensuring that personnel are fully competent in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining Envent equipment and systems.
This role develops training content, maintains technical documentation, and partners closely with Operations, HSE, Engineering, and Maintenance to ensure training programs reflect current standards, equipment configurations, and field requirements. The Technical Trainer will travel up to 30% of the time to provide on-site training, field evaluations, and skill development sessions.

Training Development & Delivery
- Develop, update, and deliver training programs covering equipment operation, maintenance, safety, troubleshooting, and technical procedures.
- Provide hands‑on instruction in classroom, field, shop, and jobsite environments.
- Facilitate live demonstrations, simulations, and competency assessments for groups ranging from small teams to large technician classes.
- Evaluate trainee performance, identify skill gaps, and implement training plans to improve proficiency.
- Ensure training aligns with operational requirements, equipment updates, and industry regulations.
Curriculum & Documentation
- Develop and maintain training materials including manuals, guides, job aids, videos, and e‑learning modules.
- Update content to reflect changes in equipment, SOPs, fabrication standards, and field practices.
- Assist with building a centralized knowledge repository for technicians and operational staff.
Technical Expertise & Support
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on Envent equipment, field operations, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Support the development of SOPs, technical standards, and maintenance procedures.
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to translate technical information into accessible training content.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Operations, HSE, Fabrication, Maintenance, and Quality to ensure training programs meet organizational needs.
- Participate in field visits, job walks, pre‑execution reviews, and post‑project debriefs to gather training requirements.
- Support onboarding and qualification processes for new technicians.
Program Management & Readiness
- Maintain training schedules, rosters, competency tracking, and certification records.
- Assess training effectiveness using feedback, field performance data, and supervisor input.
- Recommend and implement improvements to training programs, tools, and delivery methods.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Duties may vary according to region, division, area, and/or assignment. Other duties may be assigned):
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, ensuring communication and compliance across the team.
- Maintain working knowledge of rotating equipment including pumps, blowers, compressors, and performance curves.
- Support safety initiatives by reinforcing HSE expectations during all training sessions.
- Assist with evaluating new technologies, methods, and equipment for incorporation into training programs.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and field competency expectations.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and other safety assessments to ensure training reflects risk‑mitigation strategies.
- Maintain availability for occasional support during high‑priority operational needs.
- Maintain availability for a 24/7 operating environment when needed (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Travel up to 30% of the time, including overnight travel, as business needs require.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Technical degree, trade school education, or equivalent field experience preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial operations, equipment operation, maintenance, or technical training.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver effective hands‑on training for field technicians.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial equipment (pumps, blowers, compressors, instruments, controls, and related systems).
- Experience developing training materials or instructional programs preferred.

Company-specific and customer safety training is required.

- Proficiency with required PPE and ability to complete all customer and facility qualification requirements.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must maintain a valid driver’s license. The candidate or employee must provide his or her motor vehicle record from the state of residency and must be insurable by the Envent Corporation insurance provider. Professional Engineer’s certification is preferred but not required.

Physical demands of this position are sitting, walking, climbing, stooping and bending. Technical Trainer may on occasion lift and or move up to fifty pounds (50lbs). Technical Trainer must be physically fit and pass the company physical in order to be qualified to work in this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Technical Trainer encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is moderate but can be loud when working in the field.
Work environment is a combination of office and field. The Technical Trainer will be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions. He or she will be in industrial plants which will expose them to potentially hazardous situations. You must have all necessary PPE and be prepared to use it as the situation dictates. The Technical Trainer can be subjected to extreme heights and moving mechanical parts. While performing the duties of this job, the Technical Trainer may work in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals common to an active site – appropriate PPE is provided and required.
