Position Summary

The Safety Data Analyst is responsible for owning and elevating the quality, structure, and usability of safety data across produced water midstream operations. This role is responsible for building and maintaining reliable, real-time safety systems, with a strong emphasis on form development, data integrity, and user experience.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with digital platforms—preferably KPA Flex, Samsara, and other safety system databases. This individual can quickly design, deploy, and optimize custom forms and workflows that are intuitive for field users and produce clean, actionable data. This position is located in Houston, Texas, and reports to the Regulatory & Compliance Senior Vice President.

Essential Job Duties

Build and maintain a highly reliable, user-friendly safety data system by:

  • Driving data accuracy and consistency at the source

  • Rapidly developing and improving digital forms and workflow

  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting data issues

  • Delivering live, trusted reporting systems used for operational decision-making

Design, build, and optimize custom safety forms and workflows within KPA (Flex) and similar systems:

  • Configure systems for fast, intuitive usability for field personnel

  • Audit and continuously improve data quality, identifying and resolving errors and gaps

  • Develop validation rules and standardized processes to prevent bad data entry

  • Build and maintain real-time dashboards and reporting tools

  • Integrate and manage data across platforms (KPA, Samsara, spreadsheets, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot system issues and resolve data discrepancies

  • Collaborate with operations teams to align systems with real-world workflows

  • Train field personnel on proper system use and data entry

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field or equivalent practical experience

  • 3 years of experience in data systems, safety systems, or operational data environments

  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, organization, and analysis

  • Proven experience building or managing forms, workflows, or system configurations (KPA, Samsara, or similar platforms)

  • Experience identifying and correcting data quality issues at the source

  • Proven experience building and managing data systems, forms, and workflows

  • Hands-on experience with KPA Flex, Samsara, or similar platforms

  • Ability to quickly develop and deploy usable digital forms

  • Strong understanding of data quality management and error resolution

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of system performance

  • Able to travel as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in data systems, safety systems, or operational data environments

  • Basic knowledge of oilfield operations and safety

  • Experience in produced water midstream operations (pipelines, SWDs, trucking, facilities)

  • Experience with dashboard tools such as Power BI or Tableau

  • Experience with ISN and Veriforce databases

  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other data tools


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

  • Field visits required
