QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or higher in reading, education or related field;
- Valid Texas teacher’s certification in related field;
- Principal (or equivalent) certificate preferred;
- Three years’ classroom experience;
- Ability to work with school staff and parents.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Probationary/Term Contract: 210 days
SALARY:
$71,763 (IA 4)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2025-2026
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of mandated universal screening as well as the local, state, and federal requirements related to dyslexia and related disorders, including the Child Find requirement imposed under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), including selection of the screening instrument and training
- Coordinate and monitor the development and implementation of evidencebased intervention structures and strategies that support students identified as at risk for dyslexia or a related disorder.
- Assist with staffing allocations for Providers of Dyslexia Instruction positions.
- Assist with budget planning needs for dyslexia.
- Monitor the implementation of best practices for the ongoing performance monitoring of students who are at risk for, or identified with, dyslexia or a related disorder to evaluate their response to evidence-based interventions.
- Ensure compliance with necessary TEA reporting requirements.
- Coordinate parental training opportunities related to dyslexia and related disorders, as appropriate.
- Provide leadership and guidance for teachers responsible for educating students with disabilities in the development of instructional strategies, developing appropriate IEP’s and attending staffing meetings and ARDs as appropriate.
- Collaborate with assessment staff regarding procedures for evaluating and identifying students with dyslexia and related disorders.
- Coordinate the development of evidence-based instructional resources, curriculum planning, and staff training related to dyslexia and related disorders.
- Develop and coordinate support structures for staff providing services to students with dyslexia and related disorders across a continuum of services and supports.
- Coordinate and conduct staff development for all staff serving students with dyslexia and related disorders.
- Collaborate with various district departments to support students with dyslexia and related disorders, ensuring access to quality instruction.
- Provide guidance and structures to assist campuses in collecting and analyzing data related to student progress to determine the effectiveness of programs and interventions.
