Description
Position Description
- Enters court data in Harris County's Justice Courts Information System in Odyssey and JWEB.
- Answering and assisting multi-line switchboard, performs extensive data entry and files in numeric and alpha order.
- Works with the public and processing payments for traffic, criminal, and civil cases.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
- Minimum (2) years of paid Clerical experience.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
- Heavy filing and some experience working with computers and handling a multi-line phone system.
- Basic computer knowledge in a Microsoft Windows based environment.
- Possesses strong oral and written communications skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, punctual, and dependable.
- Capable of multi-tasking, handling high pressure, fast-paced and stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Ability to interact and communicate with individuals of diverse background.
- Ability to work well with the public and other staff members.
- Proper English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and business writing.
- Physical: ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
- Uses standard office equipment such as computer, copiers, and fax machine.
- A valid U.S. driver's license and social security card.

Preferences
- Two (2) years paid working experience as either a court clerk, administrative assistant in a legal office, or administration of justice office.
