Job Summary
Position is responsible for assisting with monthly General Ledger Close and annual preparation of the Medicare Cost Report as well as other duties as assigned.Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associates degree in business or equivalent training
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Two (2) year’s experience in healthcare billing, reimbursement or patient financial services
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and perform duties on an as need basis.
Principle Accountabilities:
Ensure the journal entries are accurately posting and provide account analysis.
Compiles and analyzes physician time studies.
Enters each resident's school rotation information in CMS software.
Develops a monthly collection system to gather statistics, which include summarizing the data needed for the preparation of the annual Medicare/Medicaid Cost Report
Prepare selected A-6 reclasses, A-8 adjustments, statistics for the annual Medicare/Medicaid Cost Reports as needed
Input source data into the Cost Report
Gather data for special projects as needed
Perform other duties as directed
Setup Cost Report in HFS for the upcoming year
Research Bad Debt for Cost Report submission
Assist with Month End analysis as needed
Assist with appeal operations as needed
Prepare and file Tricare Cost Reports
Ensure the Medicare and Medicaid Correspondence received is filed into correspondence binders
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
