UTHealth Houston is looking for an Institutional-Wide Financial Analyst who will work in the Central Administration’s Sponsored Projects Administration office. Specifically, this position will be a part of the Post Award Finance (PAF) team that oversees all financial activities relating to grants and contracts for the University, which includes six (6) schools, a Public Health Institute, and a Behavioral Sciences campus.

Financial oversight of sponsored awards from Award Intake to Closeout includes:
- Ensuring proper award set-up
- Financial analysis and reporting
- Revenue matching
- Reviewing and approving financial transactions to ensure compliance
- Assisting with audits and compliance reviews
- Providing guidance and service to departmental staff and faculty regarding financial activities for sponsored awards
This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven role that requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to switch tasks quickly while maintaining excellent customer service. Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Develop, prepare, analyze, and/or review reports summarizing research financial activity.
2. Review, analyze, and document sponsored contracts and grants.
3. Review, analyze, and approve financial transactions.
4. Review, analyze, and ensure proper allocation of revenue.
5. Analyze and prepare needed adjustments to both actual and budget ledgers.
6. Analyze and prepare documentation and support as requested by internal and external auditors.
7. Act as subject matter expert concerning sponsored awards.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
Minimum Experience:
Three (3) years of related experience in a financial or accounting area.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position.
