Description
The Harris County Night Crew is looking for an experienced office manager to assist with administrative support. The person in this position will work alongside both Night Crew and District leadership to ensure operational cohesiveness while managing multiple aspects of maintenance record keeping, inventory, purchasing, and time keeping.

Maintenance Support Tech I:
Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Maintenance Support Tech II:
Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with high-level managers, executives, governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Essential Duties:Maintenance Support Tech I:
- Assists in preparing monthly and final maintenance contract estimates.
- Edits correspondence, reports, forms, and documents for proper format, spelling, grammar, punctuation, typographical errors, syntax, style, sentence structure, content, and clarity.
- Maintains and updates office files/records/logs and a wide variety of automated systems in support of personnel, finance, budgeting, maintenance, inventory, contracts, purchasing, travel information, and/or permitting activities.
- Monitors and assists with data entry for maintenance contract record keeping.
- Prepares statistical reports and verifies for accuracy and completeness.
- Processes change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders.
- Reviews and processes records of completed maintenance projects.
- Reviews, prepares and/or negotiates applicable program purchases for services, office materials, supplies, tools and/or equipment and monitors contracts.
- Processes receipts and invoices for payment.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Maintenance Support Tech II:
Includes all essential duties listed for Maintenance Support Tech I as well as:
Assists with data entry for construction record-keeping.
Coordinates and tracks the progress of projects and/or specialized programs and informs supervisor or other Department officials of status.

Maintenance Support Tech I:
Education:
High School Grad or Equivalent in general education
Experience:
No Experience Required. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
Maintenance Support Tech II:
Education:
High School Grad or Equivalent in general education
Experience:
1 year in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Maintenance Support Tech I and II:
- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs. at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs. at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs.
- Standing - prolonged periods of time
- Repetitive Motion - substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Close Visual Acuity - work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
