Responsibilities:
- This is the company's 4th technical level of reservoir engineering expertise. Provides engineering support functions and performs property studies that when executed leads to the enhancement of oil, gas and performance of the company's reserve base in the most cost-effective manner possible.
- Performs field studies with team members to identify upside reserve projects such as recompletions, drill well opportunities, and secondary waterflood recovery projects for Capital Allocation Committee (CAC) consideration.
- Works in a team environment with other geologists, reservoir and production engineers, landmen, and field personnel to identify and manage the implementation and development of capital budget projects.
- Fills the role of Project Leader on certain designated capital budget projects with the added responsibility of taking a leadership role and being accountable for the timely and cost-efficient implementation of these specific projects.
- Monitors performance of assigned properties to ensure production goals are met or exceeded.
- Maintains an awareness of evolving industry practices and emerging technologies as they apply to maximizing the economic recovery of the company’s oil & gas assets.
- Recognized by peers as a proficient engineer and as such becomes a mentor to less experienced engineers and other technical professionals in the team environment.
Qualifications:
- Unconventional Reservoirs - candidate has generated prospects in horizontal plays, and some experience and familiarity with production/operations engineering a plus
- Experienced in Type Curve creation, oil/gas production decline curve analysis and forecasting, non-operated project deal flow analysis and evaluation, down-spacing analysis, production & injection diagnostics (i.e. Rate vs Time, Hall Plot, Oil Cut vs Cum Oil, etc.), company reserves forecasting, project economic analysis, and familiar with enhanced/improved oil recovery technologies.
- Ideal candidate will also have experience in Conventional field development, especially in mature waterfloods.
- Skilled at leading the development of capital reserve-adding projects and preparing/presenting recommendations to upper-level management for approval
- Experienced in the use of OFM, Microsoft, IHS & Enverus databases, PHDWin or similar economics programs, and Spotfire/Tableau
- BS in Engineering (preferably Petroleum Engineering)
- 10+ years of reservoir engineering experience typically required
Physical Requirements:
Required to temporarily move and handle heavy boxes to their office from the file room. These boxes contain large amounts of field & well files for their technical field study review.
