Job Summary

Murphy Oil is currently looking for an Advisor, Interventions Offshore to lead offshore intervention projects through planning and provide office-based support during operations.

Responsibilities

Develop wells/interventions through the well delivery process
Work with asset teams to develop Basis of Well Designs (BoWD) for projects
Equipment selection, qualification, and testing
Prepare time and cost estimates
Evaluate Basis of Well Designs to create an Intervention Design Document to meet well requirements
Engage well construction personnel and service partners to ensure well design integrity/feasibility
Utilize peer review process to ensure formal feedback is included in the design maturation process
Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities associated with completion and intervention designs and operations
Develop well programs within Murphy Standards, HSE Management System, and the governing regulatory and permit requirements
Achieve continuous improvement by capturing and incorporating best practices and lessons learned throughout the well delivery process from both internal and external resources
Provide mentoring to staff engineers
Provide guidance and support as wells are completed to ensure adherence to BoWD, standards, regulation, and well programs

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum of 25 years of intervention and/or completion engineering experience with demonstrated technical ability and a proven record of delivering interventions and workovers
Deepwater Gulf of America intervention and completion design, planning, and operations experience
Commitment to the health and safety of our workforce and the environment.
Experience analyzing problems and identifying practical solutions
Ability to deliver and facilitate technical presentations and documentation
Ability to work in a collaborative environment, communicate effectively and constructively with other technical functions, field personnel, and service partners at all levels
Self-starter with a hard-working approach and can-do attitude – motivated and resourceful individual
Minimum of 5 years focused experience in intervention thru-tubing conveyance (coil tubing, slickline, eline, tractors, etc)
Strong desire to deliver technical excellence commensurate with business needs
Experience with BSEE regulatory APM submittal
Well site operations and supervision experience
Experience with design elements including sand control, single trip multizone and conventional systems, intelligent wells, gas lift, SCSSVs, workover/interventions, and subsea tree systems
Preference for candidates with both service company and operator experience

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
