Position Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides shift or unit staff with the training and resources needed to perform duties in accordance with Agency procedures and standards.
- Establishes work assignments for shift or unit staff in a manner that provides adequate coverage and effective execution of related duties.
- Verifies and approve employee timesheets.
- Interacts professionally, effectively, and harmoniously with other people.
- Observes employees perform their duties and provide direction on effectiveness.
- Communicates performance standards to employees and counsel them on their performance.
- Conducts performance reviews on assigned staff and evaluate employee’s readiness for changes in work assignments.
- Reviews work products for both quality and quantity and monitor adherence to established procedures.
- Assess the efficacy of shift and unit procedures based on feedback from court, staff, and leadership. Develop recommendations to change and improve processes.
- Establishes and maintains contacts with other departments or agencies where coordination is necessary to facilitate Department processes.
- Responds to staff concerns with explanations or remedies in a timely fashion.
- Maintains and generates statistical information needed for monthly reports.
- Communicates the trends or outcomes-based performance measures to division managers.
- Verifies fee collection and deposit procedures.
- Verifies invoices for vendor services.
- Develops and monitors processes for referring clients to appropriate support and treatment services.
- Provides up-to-date information for new employee training sessions.
- Attends interagency meetings.
- Facilitates monthly staff meetings.
- Provides fidelity reports to the Division Manager monthly.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Supporting Documents:
- Copy of complete transcripts are required with the application.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with either:
- Two (2) years of experience in the pretrial services field
- Four (4) years of experience in criminal justice work.
- A valid Driver's License (Texas upon hire), available transportation and current auto liability insurance.
- Demonstrates a tolerance for diverse populations.
- Effective communications with stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze problems and initiate corrective measures; and organize tasks and set priorities.
- Interact professionally, effectively, and harmoniously with other people.
- Understand foundational and evidence-based practices for pretrial.
- Working in a jail with security restrictions and close proximity to defendants; in a courtroom; travel between office locations; and non traditional shift, weekend and overtime assignments.
- Ability to obtain clearance based on a criminal history background check.
- Personal transportation for use on the job.
- Shift work.
- Documentation of yearly TB screen.

Automatic Disqualification:
- Convictions, probation, or deferred adjudication for any Felony, and any Class A Misdemeanor.
- Convictions, probation, or deferred adjudication for a Class B Misdemeanor, if within the previous 10 years.
- Open arrest for any criminal offense (Felony or Misdemeanor).
- Family Violence conviction.

- Hours will be discussed during departmental interview
