Description
The Accounting and Finance Director is responsible for overseeing the Finance and Accounting function for all business operations in Texas (Houston and Dallas) inside and outside of the month-end reporting cycle. We are seeking an organized leader who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions for operating entities in the Texas region, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP.
- Partner closely with Area Vice President of Operations to provide financial insights, helping drive profitability, efficiency, and cost control measures.
- Prepare and present monthly financial results to the President of Operations, providing clear variance analysis and business drivers.
- Lead and execute the annual budgeting process, working with operations to develop forecasts aligned with business objectives.
- Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely reconciliations, accruals, and reporting across both entities.
- Support external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance across financial processes.
- Effectively manage and coach Accounting and Finance department, ensuring accountability, professional growth, and alignment with business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of Accounting and Finance experience
- Bachelor's degree in a finance, accounting, business or a related field
- Understanding of Percentage of Completion accounting, or ability to be trained
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Access, or the ability to be trained
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and both detail and process oriented
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
