Description
Under general supervision, oversees a small project or phases of a larger project that develop or modify information systems. Manages the execution of programs and projects within the constraints of budget, schedule, and scope while minimizing risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies. Manages project teams to meet objectives of projects that are moderate to complex in scope, risk, and/or organization span or multiple moderate to complex projects.
Relying on limited experience and knowledge, this role is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature.
- Project Management:
- Manage projects involving multiple departments or cross-functional teams, focusing on both successful integration of technology or implementation of new IT solutions.
- Manage schedules and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Anticipate bottlenecks and provide escalation management.
- Anticipate and make tradeoffs, balance business needs versus technical constraints, and encourage risk-taking behavior to maximize business benefit.
- Adhere to IT project management methodology within the organization.
- Identify and manage interdependencies between concurrent IT projects.
- Business Analysis:
- Gather and document requirements from stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project objectives.
- Conduct testing after automation to ensure systems meet business needs and specifications.
- Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
- Planning:
- Follow work plans, established timelines, and predefined goals for assigned work.
- Meet commitments on deadlines.
- Communication:
- Communicate activities, results, and observations with employees and management as appropriate.
- Cost Management:
- Identify areas for improvement in existing business practices.
- Perform work thoroughly in a cost-efficient manner and at a high productivity level.
- Business Controls and Policies:
- Comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
- Report any breakdowns in controls to management.
- Conduct all activities in a safe manner.
- Education:
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
- Certifications, Licenses, and Designations:
- Minimum: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience:
- 5 Years: Experience in computer systems as a business systems analyst.
- 2 Years: Relevant and progressive professional experience in a Project Manager role.
- Other:
- Possess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment.
- Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
- Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.
- May be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
- May be required to move up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other devices.
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus, such as required to read a computer screen.
- Occasional travel (up to 10% of time).
