Sr. Technical Professional Leader - Mechanical

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for design, specification, selection and services relating to mechanical equipment for FCC Convertors, pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, fired and unfired heat transfer equipment, utility equipment, packaged units, material handling and solids processing systems. Under broad direction, supervises and leads a group of engineers and designers. Sets the technical standards and procedures for the team. Conducts various aspects of performance management such as performance appraisal or counseling of employees with behavior or technical performance problems and assists in the interviewing, hiring, and assignment of new personnel in the discipline. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design of pressure vessels (Vertical and Horizontal) based on ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Div.-1 & 2.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis of pressure vessels, pressure vessel components and other mechanical components.
  • Support design improvement initiatives for enhanced mechanical integrity.
  • Experience in design of equipment involving single or multiple layers of refractory. Experience in inspecting equipment is preferred.
  • Familiar with the latest design engineering and analytical techniques/software for Pressure Vessel design.
  • Experience across all engineering phases (concept/Basic Design/FEED/detail and site support activities during installation and troubleshooting)
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates and controls projects in accordance with KBR established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company.
  • Plans and manages all project design /engineering activities within budget and schedule. Ensures design deliverables are of high-quality meeting client satisfaction
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers and have experience of working with global offices, on a work share basis
  • Closely work with Business Development and Sales to provide technical expertise during client proposal discussions.
  • Support technology innovation and patent development
  • Prior working experience in the Licensing industry is preferred.
  • Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer will be an added advantage

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering,
  • 20+ years of experience in Pressure Vessel Designing
  • Must have experience in detailed Mechanical design and specialized calculations of Fluidizing Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU)
  • Understand FEA and CFD methodologies
  • Must be, at minimum, a lawful Permanent Resident of USA
