Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures for machining operations.
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing workflows to increase productivity, reduce cycle times, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Support CNC machining operations by assisting with process development, tooling selection, fixture design, and routing optimization.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support new product introduction by ensuring manufacturability, developing routings, estimating cycle times, and validating processes.
  • Evaluate and recommend capital equipment, tooling, and technology improvements to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Work with quality teams to ensure compliance with quality standards, investigate non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives through process improvements, waste elimination, and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and actively support a safe working environment.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate routings, bills of material, and process documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
    • Will consider recent graduates with machine shop intern experience.
  • Experience supporting CNC machining operations, including mills, and lathes.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, fixturing, and manufacturing best practices
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in heavy equipment, oil & gas, or industrial manufacturing environments
    • Experience with process validation and capital equipment implementation
    • Six Sigma or Lean certification is a plus
