Description
This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
Team Background/ Reason for Need: Team is a design center, their role is not tied to any particular program. They have a team of design and stress engineers and they work with programs across the company to bring in more resources to assist with the work they have. The hiring team will align each candidate to a team based on their skills and the projects that need to be done.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support and confirmation of fracture assessments for service life requirements.
- Strength analysis will include interpretation of vehicle loads and environments, stress calculations and development of margins of safety with known allowables.
- Observance of program standards and requirements to insure structural integrity, and documentation of stress reports.
- Plans and organizes structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements.
- Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design.
- Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
- Support and confirmation of fracture assessments for service life requirements.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Aerospace Structural hardware and Finite Element Method (FEM).
- Excellent strength reporting writing skills.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) including NASTRAN.
- Some experience with launch vehicle structures.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Pay Rate Range
85 - 90 USD hourly
