Description
- Supervisor ensures the daily service and maintenance of hotel guest rooms, hallways and service areas.
- Supervisor assists employees where needed and ensures that employees are adequately supplied.
- Supervisor inspects both stayover and departed rooms and updates them in the property management system.
- Supervisor ensures that all guest requests are appropriately executed.
- Supervisor assists other departments both in person and over the phone and is highly responsive to the needs of all the operating departments.
- Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all assigned areas are clean and organized and that all assigned rooms have been cleaned or contacted to schedule service at the end of the shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Education is preferred but not required.
- Previous hotel housekeeping experience and supervisor experience preferred.
- The supervisor must understand and communicate fluently in English.
- The supervisor must be thoroughly familiar with the housekeeping functions in the property management system.
- The supervisor must maintain communication with the Front Desk and Engineering departments to coordinate issues with guest rooms in the assigned area.
- The supervisor must be able to interact effectively with staff, guests and supervisors and employees in other departments who have responsibilities in the guest rooms.
- To perform the duties of this position successfully, an employee is required to execute the essential functions of the job.
- Employees in this position will be required to work effectively in areas where most of the time they are in full view of the guests.
- Physical Stamina: Must be able to walk, stand, stretch and bend for long periods of time. The hours of work varies upon business. Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs. and on occasionally manipulate wheeled carts that weigh up to 200 lbs. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to perform all activities in a professional manner. Must be able to see and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids. Must be able to communicate in person and over the telephone.
- Hearing / Speech: Must be able to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests, members, and customers and use a 2-way radio to communicate clearly and accurately with co-workers.
- Vision: Must be able to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets. Must be able to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions.
- Literacy: Must be able to produce, read and understand reports, including security, incident and police reports. Must be able to analyze and process written information from a variety of sources and effectively communicate content of reports.
- Chemicals/Agents: Must be able to work safely with chemicals according to SDS sheets and all applicable laws, codes and regulatory requirements.
