What will I be
doing?

This position is within the Transportation Department at the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) and is a member of the Accounting and Finance Team. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day administration and oversight of primarily transportation-related contracts with both government entities and consultants. This role works closely with transportation project and program managers to ensure contract compliance, accuracy, and timely processing.

ü Transportation Consultant and Local Government Contracts

  • Draft, review, and revise consultant contracts, amendments, and extensions.
  • Ensure contract terms comply with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist with clarification of scope, deliverables, timelines, pricing, and payment terms.
  • Support program managers and staff during contract negotiations with vendors, consultants, and contractors.
  • Review consultant subconsultant agreements for compliance with legal requirements and project accuracy.
  • Enter contracts into the contract management system and track them through all required approval steps.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and organized filing systems.
  • Prepare and distribute contract status reports.
  • Maintain contract databases and tracking systems.
  • Archive completed contracts in accordance with established policies.
  • Work with internal audit team for verification of consultant documentation.
  • Work with internal procurement for acquiring proper documentation needed for compliance with government policies.

ü Transportation Government Contracts

  • Oversee the administration of transportation-related government grantor award contracts.
  • Manage contract modifications, amendments, and extensions.
  • Oversee entry, tracking, and approval monitoring within the contract management system.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and organization of all government award contract documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  • Prepare contract status reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain contract databases and tracking systems.
  • Archive completed contracts in accordance with established policies.

Qualifications

ü This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, consultants, and government partners.


Do you have…

ü Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study

ü 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school, or in job-related duties

ü Microsoft Office Suite

ü ASANA Project Management Software

ü SharePoint

ü Government work experience preferred within transportation.
