Description:

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston invites applications for a position at the rank of Full Professor to begin Fall 2026.

We are looking for strong candidates whose scholarship integrates data science, with focus on statistical modeling and computation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in areas of data science such as machine learning, predictive modeling, decision-making under uncertainty, artificial intelligence, or computational statistics. This position is expected to strengthen collaborations with the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Data Science Institute, the UH College of Medicine, and other departments across the university.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or Statistics or a closely related field. Candidates for this position must have demonstrated distinguished records in all aspects of research, teaching, and leadership with a sustained vibrant research program funded by competitive funding agencies. They are expected to develop and foster nationally recognized, cross-disciplinary research programs.
