Responsibilities:
The AB Seaman will report to the Boatswain and will be responsible for the maintenance of the rig's equipment and decks.
The AB Seaman may:
Maintain the rig's equipment and decks Perform assigned watch duties during rig moves Stow or remove cargo from rig's cargo areas as necessary for maintenance Perform repairs and routine maintenance on ballast system, bulk transfer system and pump room equipment Paint and chip rust on deck or superstructure of rig Overhaul lifeboats and lifeboat gear and lower or raise lifeboats with winch or falls Break out, rig, overhaul, and stow cargo-handling gear, stationary rigging, and running gear as needed for jobs Take charge of wheel on bridge or emergency steering apparatus during rig moves Perform all duties of a marine roustabout Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs and in pre-tour weekly safety meetings Follow Diamond Offshore Global Excellence Management System (G.E.M.S.) Perform other duties as directed
Basic Qualifications:
Possess valid Australian working rights Possess BOSIET Able Seaman ll/4 or ll/5 Certificate of Competency or higher certification Possess STCW Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working on a drilling vessel Experience operating a mechanical winch Experience in crane operations Possess High School Diploma/GED or higher
