Description

We are searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) at Texas Children's Outpatient Women's Services Health Clinic in The Medical Center — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll provide direct and telephone nursing care, health teaching, patient advocacy, supervision and coordination of care given by others, and the coordination of services required for patients outside the ambulatory care setting in a manner that is age and developmentally appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing Or Associates Degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement Or Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement Or Must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN.
  • Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
  • Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient with input from the patient/family
  • Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental (ageappropriate),cultu al, spiritual, and environmental needs in an organized and systematic manner.
  • Collects and analyzes data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care.
  • Analyzes situations, anticipates potential problem, and detects changes in patient status.
  • Identifies patient’s needs pertaining to patient teaching, discharge planning, growth and development, nutritional screening, functional status, and pain management
  • Implements high quality, cost effective patient care in conjunction with the patient/family.
  • Develops an individualized plan of care based upon the nursing assessment reflecting the bio-physical, psychosocial, developmental (age-appropriate), cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs of the patient/family and ensures plan is initiated, dated, and individualized by the RN within 24 hours of admission
  • Assists patient/family in implementing their role in the plan of care as appropriate
  • Evaluates plan of care
  • Educates patient and family
  • Demonstrates commitment to team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication,
    critical thinking, and customer service skills
