Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Engineer in our environmental sciences and engineering practice in our Houston, TX office. The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to contaminated site assessment & remediation, groundwater management, environmental compliance, and environmental due diligence for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system O&M;
- Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
- Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
- Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
- Civil design, hydrological and hydraulic analysis, and other engineering design tasks;
- Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
- Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (required)
- Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable. (preferred)
- At least 2 years of related experience, including observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field techniques, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation. (preferred)
- Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (valuable)
- Technical experience in civil, environmental, and related disciplines. (preferred)
- Experience with construction work such as plumbing, electrical, structural, geotechnical, or mechanical tasks. (valuable)
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software; AutoCAD and/or GIS. (preferred)
- Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
- Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
