Description
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate 4–8 Science or 4–8 Generalist certification (or eligibility)
- Strong knowledge of middle school science content and effective instructional practices
- ESL certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
- Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of the middle school science curriculum and TEKS
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Ability to integrate technology and engineering concepts into science instruction
- Skilled in designing project-based and inquiry-based learning experiences
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Experience:
- Successful completion of student teaching or approved internship (required)
- Prior teaching experience in middle school is preferred
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-based science lessons that incorporate STEM concepts.
- Use inquiry-based learning, labs, projects, and real-world applications to deepen student understanding.
- Integrate technology, robotics, engineering design challenges, and mathematical modeling into instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English learners and students with special needs.
- Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Promote collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving through group projects and STEM challenges.
- Assess student learning through a variety of methods and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Foster curiosity, innovation, and critical thinking skills in all students.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in campus and district professional learning communities (PLCs).
- Collaborate with colleagues to design cross-curricular STEM initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and performance.
- Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in STEM education.
- Starting Salary $66,000 for fully certified teachers

Primary Purpose:

The teacher will design hands-on, inquiry-based lessons that integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) principles to foster problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking skills in middle school students.
